Partnership Establishes U.S. Foothold For Leading European Animation Producer/Distributor And Opens Door To Increased Worldwide Exposure for New Kids Entertainment Venue
LOS ANGELES, February 9, 2007 -- Taffy Entertainment announced today it has sold a 22.5% stake in Kabillion to Germany's EM.Entertainment. The strategic deal will provide significant resources, both financially and in programming, to the new multi-platform, kids program service, available both as a free online broadband site (www.Kabillion.com) and a free video on-demand (VOD) channel.
The new partnership will enable Kabillion to offer American viewers some of the finest children's programming from EM.Entertainment's library, including the action comedy series Staines Down Drains and the innovative series The World of Tosh. This venture also allows for the creation of new co-productions between EM.Entertainment, a subsidiary of EM.TV AG, and Taffy Entertainment, part of The MoonScoop Group.
Kabillion, which successfully launched in January 2007, offers high-quality animated and live-action kids' series entertainment on both the cable VOD and online platforms. The VOD platform is now available to digital cable subscribers nationwide on Comcast Cable systems with more to be added soon. Future plans also call for offering mobile, gaming and other wireless platforms.
