YUMI

Yumi Ishiyama is a complex young girl. Beautiful and brilliant, Yumi often seems distant and cold, but her outward appearances belie a generous, sensitive and loyal friend, which she only lets people see on rare occasions. Tough as nails but with a heart as soft as a plum, Yumi is the product of a traditional Japanese upbringing, living with her parents and little brother Hiroki. Thanks to her sharp humor and sense of observation, she is easily able to read people and size them up quickly. Her natural charisma also has friends looking to her as the leader of the group. She is also very close to Ulrich, but this strong and complex relationship is often threatened when William is around. In her virtual form, Yumi is a profound gymnast with unimaginable capabilities and an advanced marksman with her deadly metal fan. The other members of the group often rely on her acrobatic maneuvers and amazing gift of telekinesis (ability to move object with her mind) to get them through dangerous situations. Weapon: Metal fan: She uses it to deflect monsters' missiles and as a deadly discus. It can slice off the slimiest of giant insect heads. JEREMY

Jeremy Belpois is what you might call an endearing nerd. An exceptionally gifted kid and computer genius, he is at the command of the Supercomputer lab and supervises with ease his friends' transfers into Lyoko. Although Jeremy never enters Lyoko, he helps them avoid the monsters and elude X.A.N.A.'s traps from the safety of his vantage point in the lab. Jeremy is also the one responsible for saving Aelita, by helping her escape Lyoko and giving her a human appearance. Not only is he helping her adapt to her new life, but he also hopes to help Aelita in the search of her past. Weapon : He doesn't fight on Lyoko, but he transfer them with the scanners and the Supercomputer. Power : Computer skills.

ULRICH

Ulrich Stern is the serious, silent type. Keeping emotions and his past under wraps at all times, his group of friends seem to be the only family he has ever known. However, when it's time to act, Ulrich is right at home, relying on his extreme athletic ability and never-say-die attitude to pull him through challenging situations. But he'll have to summon more than his physical strength to figure out how he's going to handle his feelings for Yumi. Inside Lyoko, Ulrich's speed on foot and swiftness with the sword serve him well in difficult battles. He's quick and agile as a fox, and even more impressively, he has the advantage of being able to duplicate his virtual body many times over to confuse enemies. AELITA

Aelita is a virtual humanoid girl who used to live on Lyoko, where she fought alone against X.A.N.A.. From her first meeting with our heroes, they became friends and promised to release her from the virus. Aelita is the only one capable of stopping X.A.N.A.'s attacks by deactivating the infected towers of Lyoko. When Jeremy finally found the formula to materialize her, she joined her friends on Earth. But soon after entering Earth, her mind became haunted by strange visions and violent nightmares, eventually leading the Code Lyoko gang to discover Aelita is actually the daughter of Franz Hopper, Lyoko's creator. ODD

Odd Della Robbia is the eccentric one of the group. Raised by artist parents, he has a natural curiosity about life and a strong desire to be free from life's responsibilities. A bad student when it comes to traditional school subjects, Odd has an incredible gift for artistic subjects like painting, fashion and especially music, all of which is reflected in his cool style and happy attitude. In Lyoko, Odd is on the prowl as an arrow-shooting, enemy-pouncing wild cat. In his feline form, his curiosity can sometimes get the better of him, as he charges into risky situations without thinking things through. But even though his impulses can get the team in trouble, his agility and astounding ability to predict near-future situations often get him off the hook just in time. X.A.N.A.

X.A.N.A. is a powerful virus which has infected the super-computer that controls the virtual world of Lyoko. It's goal is to destroy Lyoko and take control over the Earth. X.A.N.A. sends out viruses that can take possession of objects, animals or human beings ("Xanatification"). In the 3D world of Lyoko, it creates monsters to fight our heroes. The only way for them to stop X.A.N.A.'s attacks is to locate the infected tower on one of Lyoko territories and to deactivate it, with Aelita's help. Once the attack can be stopped, Jeremy must take the team back in time to keep their secret, but discovers that this operation allows X.A.N.A. to become more powerful every time. After Jeremy frees Aelita from the virus, X.A.N.A. re-captures her and steals the digital keys from her memory. As a result, it can now leave Lyoko - with all the data necessary to build other supercomputers. Moreover, X.A.N.A. escapes from Lyoko to immerse in the digital network (the numeric sea) and can now attack when and from wherever it chooses, leaving Earth in great danger...

WILLIAM

Courageous and bold, William is one of the Kadic students. Sometimes it seems he will stop at nothing to create problems between the heroes. Quite self-assured, William is the only person who dares to approach Yumi openly and reveal his feelings to her, making him the single-biggest threat to Ulrich and his hidden affection for Yumi - that is, until Ulrich can find William's one weakness.

Sissi

Elizabeth Delmas, aka Sissi must be the biggest brat of Kadic school. She is the principal's daughter. With Herb and Nicolas, she is always ready to make fun of the other students. In spite of her efforts, she can't get Ulrich's attention who remains completely indifferent. Sissi is very feminine and vain so she thinks she is the center of the world and the prettiest. But in spite of these superficial appearances, she is sensitive and kind. Conscious that our heroes hide a secret, she always takes the smallest opportunity to create problems for them, as much by curiosity as by jealousy.

Jim Morales

Jim Morales is the Kadic school's gym teacher. Unfortunately, he fits the stereotype of the moronic muscle-head, and his physical education classes are about as enjoyable as boot camp. He's a tyrant who takes out his frustrations on his students, especially our heroes. And although he believes the team is up to something secretive, he never seems to be able to catch them in action.

Franz Hopper

Franz Hopper, a genius in data processing, is a former science professor of Kadic high school and worked on a secret military project called "Carthage." Dr. Hopper left behind his secret journal where he wrote down his research and his work. When Jeremy decoded the diary, he discovered that Franz Hopper is Aelita's father.

Herb and Nicolas

Herb Pichon is a geek and only has one goal in mind : to be better than his eternal rival Jeremy. Nicolas Poliakoff always wears shorts no matter the weather and often looks spacy. They are always together and are completely devoted to Sissi: they obey her without ever disputing her. Even though they think they are tough, they are completely lost without their leader Sissi and become ridiculous very quickly.

JP Delmas

JP Delmas is Kadic School's principal and Sissi's father. Calm and impartial, he is an experienced educator who is genuinely concerned about the well-being and success of his students. Generally understanding and tolerant, he is also prone to lose his temper with the more impulsive Mr. Morales. He is also easily influenced by Sissi, who is quick to exert her power over him when needed.

Hiroki and Johnny

Hiroki is Yumi's little brother and Johnny is his best friend. Both students at Kadic, The duo are seemingly inseparable and always bothering Yumi. Hiroki is also fascinated by Ulrich who he looks up to like a "hero," and doesn't understand his sister's lack of interest in him. Johnny particularly likes his friend's big sister, despite that he is a little bit shy with girls. He admires his friend Hiroki who is the leader of the duo.
